TNB has been ordered to pay SEV US$11.6 million , the latter claimed as outstanding capacity payments. Segari Energy Ventures Bhd or SEV is a subsidiary of Malakoff Corp. Berhad.

Malaysia’s  feed-in-tariff mechanism  will enable individuals to earn income by selling electricity generated from renewable resources at home.

TNB will purchase electricity from KUB-Berjaya Energy for a period of 21 years at around  US$596.9 thousand annually.

UNITEN has taken an initiative to collaborate with TERI to work on common solutions of the energy resources issues. The first step is the establishment of Centre for Energy and Environment Studies, known as Institute of Energy Policy and Research or IEPRe in the Universiti Tenaga Nasional or UNITEN. IEPRe is expected to undertake interdisciplinary research on issues related to energy and environment, which would aid the government, corporate, and other stakeholders in making informed decisions. It would also create and disseminate knowledge related to energy and environment through short-term courses as well as through postgraduate and doctoral courses. The aim of IEPRe would be to enrich the existing knowledge base on a number of aspects of energy and environment such as energy economics, renewable energy, climate change, energy security, energy efficiency, energy-poverty linkages, energy sector reforms and regulations, and others.

Air Products has signed a turnkey gas supply contract for a new crystalline PV facility in Melaka, Malaysia.

TNB has declared its readiness to construct Malaysia’s first nuclear power plant to diversify the country’s energy sources.

TNB signed three agreements with three parties for a 21- year supply of renewable energy.

Ranhill Bhd has pre-qualified for a US$ 200 million power plant project in Bangladesh. It is working in collaboration with Bangladesh-based STS Educational Group Ltd.
