Solar Philippines eyes 500MW of projects in India: report
The company cited the country's favourable regulatory environment.
Solar Philippines eyes 500MW of projects in India, president Leandro L. Leviste told the press in a BusinessWorld report.
According to the executive, India's favourable regulatory environment has spurred the company to venture in the country.
“We don’t do partnerships in India. The beauty of India is the very low barrier to entry to develop grid-connected power projects in solar parks, as what they are called, with land and transmission provided by the government," Leviste said.
For Solar Philippines, the target capacity in India is dependent on the number of contracts it signs in the Philippines. The balance of what has not been taken up of its solar panels will be filled by the overseas market.
In the Philippines, the company has around 300MW of solar energy capacity, either operating or under construction.
