AP hyrdo plant commences operations
Set to deliver 55GWh of energy.
Hedcor Sabangan Inc, a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corp, has started commercial operations of the 14MW Sabangan hydroelectric power plant in Mountain Province.
According to a research note from Maybank ATR Kim Eng, inaugurated last 6 May, the plant is now set to deliver 55GWh of energy to the Luzon grid.
Using a modern run-of-river system, the Sabangan hydro project harnesses the natural force of the Chico River by diverting part of the water into the system and the water then exits the powerhouse and goes back to the river.
