AGL appoints permanent CEO, CFO

Australia’s AGL Energy Limited has named a permanent managing director and chief executive officer, and chief financial officer, effective immediately.

In a statement, AGL said Damien Nick has been appointed by the board as its managing director and CEO.

Nicks has been working with AGL since March 2013 and served as CFO from August 2018 before becoming the interim CEO on 1 October 2022.

He has 27 years of experience with significant energy, customer and multinational experience in various sectors including logistics, industrial and professional services, according to AGL.

Meanwhile, Gary Brown was appointed as the permanent CEO. He started working with the company in January 2022 as CFO-elect for Accel Energy from ENGIE.

Brown held ASX-listed CFO positions before joining the company and led the review of the strategic direction process and served as the interim CFO since 1 October 2022.
