Teesta-IV HEP: NHPC invites prequalification bids for civil works
State-run NHPC intends to prequalify companies for the civil works with respect to its 4x130 MW Teesta hydro-electric project (Stage-IV)
in Sikkim.
8Prequalification is open to construction companies and joint venture/consortium of such companies from any country.
8The contractor will be responsible for completing the following works:
--Horse shoe type Diversion Tunnels of 12.5 m diameter and length 681m(DT-1) and 593m (DT-2)
--Coffer Dams
--Completion of a 197.20 m long Concrete Gravity Dam of 65 m height
--Intake Structure and Diversion Tunnel Gates and Hoist
--Dufour type Desilting Chambers of length 360 m
--Horse shoe type Head Race Tunnels (Upto RD 1780 M) of 8 m Diameter
8The pre-qualification applications are to be submitted latest by June 5, 2012.
8It may be noted that the 520 MW HEP, located in Sikkim, is a run-of-river scheme proposed to utilize the hydel potential of the river Teesta.
The project envisages the construction of a surface power house on the left bank of the river, with four turbine units of 40 MW capacity, each,
and four pressure shafts of 7 m diameter. The project is expected to afford an annual energy generation of 720 million units (MU), assuming 90%
performance.
