Bangladesh to provide power to 728,000 new subscribers by 2013-14
The government of Bangladesh is working to provide electricity connections to new 7,28,000 subscribers though setting up 18,430 kilometer of power supply lines by 2013-14 fiscal.
This was relayed by State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources M Enamul Haque.
The initiative has been taken as part of its plan to set up 4,18,000 kilometers of power supply line to bring all villages under electricity supply, he said while replying to a question, tabled by BNP lawmaker M Abul Khayer Bhuiyan.
The state minister said the government has already provided electricity to 9.35 new rural subscribers by May last under its 10 lakh subscriber connection’ project. The rest of the connections will be made by this month, he said.
