Vietnam's thermoplant projects get VND2.5-T financing
A VND2.5 trillion loan has been approved for Vietnam's Vinh Tan 2 and Duyen Hai 1 thermopower projects.
Vinh Tan 2 and Duyen Hai 1 have a combined capacity of 2,400MW and total investment capital of VND52.722 billion, which would provide power for the southern and national power systems following the National Power Development Plan for 2006-2015.
Loans for power projects, of which 45.6 percent have been invested by the Electricity of Vietnam, accounted for 39 percent of the Vietnam Development Bank's balance of outstanding loans.
By the end of 2012, the EVN had borrowed VND36.902 trillion from the VDB for its over 80 power projects including national major projects like Son La, Lai Chau, Huoi Quang and Ban Chat hydropower plants.
