Triconti grabs contract for offshore wind in the Philippines
The Aparri Bay and Guimaras Strait projects could produce over 1.2GW.
The Triconti Windkraft Group of Companies was awarded the first ever service contract for off-shore wind energy in the Philippines by the Department of Energy (DOE).
The Triconti Windkraft Group is a partnership between Filipino-Swiss-German companies that develop wind energy projects. The Group now holds exclusive rights to study and develop offshore wind projects in the Philippines.
The company’s projects, “Aparri Bay” in the Northern Philippines and “Guimaras Strait” in the Central Philippines, have a combined potential output of over 1.2GW.
Triconti Windkraft Group currently has 500MW of onshore wind under development, bringing its portfolio 1.7GW in the country. These projects are in different stages of pre-development—with the first project in Nabas, Aklan expected to come online by 2022.
