TNB, Perak State partner to develop large-scale RE projects

The partnership is in line with the National Energy Transition Roadmap.

Malaysia’s Tenaga Nasional Berhad and the State Government of Perak will collaborate to look into the potential of deploying floating solar systems close to the Sungai Perak Hydroelectric Scheme, Dam Reservoir.

In a statement, the company said it will be working with Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak through its own subsidiary TNB Power Generation.

TNB, through its renewables arm, will also work with the Perak government-linked firm Majuperak Holdings Berhad to develop a 100-megawatt ground-mounted solar project in the state.

“These visionary endeavours are aligned with the NETR aimed at propelling Malaysia into a future marked by cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. The strategic partnerships with the Perak State Government entities signify a collective commitment to expedite the transition to environmentally friendly energy,” said TNB President and CEO Dato’ Seri Ir. Baharin Din.
