Thailand books a new 31.5MW solar project
Three Thai solar projects to add 52.5MW to grid.
German energy firm Conergy AG will be the main contractor in a 31.5 MW power plant to be built in Thailand. This is the firm’s second large-scale project for Siam Solar Energy 1 Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Thai Solar Energy Company Ltd.
In late 2012, Conergy began building two power plants for Siam Solar with a total installed capacity of 21 MW. Both plants are scheduled to be connected to the grid in the first quarter of this year.
Soon to be built will be three additional solar parks, each with an installed capacity of 10.5 MW. The three new power parks are located in the provinces of Suphanburi and Kanchanaburi in western Thailand, some 130 kilometers from Bangkok.
Conergy said it intends to work on large-scale projects with financial investors and strategic industrial customers that want to expand their portfolio with independent energy power plants.
