Son La hydropower ready to provide electricity

Unit 1 of Son La hydropower plant is ready to provide electricity at the end of this year. This was made possible by the completion of the 500 kV Son La substation and the 500 kV Son La -Hoa Binh-Nho Quan grid.

The design length is more than 460 km, including more than 250 km from Son La to Hoa Binh and 256 km from Hoa Binh to Nho Quan.

This project is in sync with Son La Hydropower Plant project, which will transmit power from Son La hydropower plant and other large plants in the Northwest like Lai Chau, Huoi Quang and Ban Chat.

The 500 kV Son La - Hoa Binh - Nho Quan gridline goes through three provinces of Son La, Hoa Binh, Ninh Binh. In Son La province, the line goes through 37 communes of 4 districts, total 74 households had to move.

The 500kV Son La - Hoa Hiep gridline gores through the districts of Muong La, Mai Son, Bac Yen and Phu Yen, total 337 households had to hand over their lands for construction of foundation columns and 169 households had to move . The compensation and clearance have been executed since 2007.
