Solarpack wins 25-year PPA to supply clean energy to SJVNL
The power will be generated from the 482 MW Ganeko hybrid project.
Spain-based energy firm Solarpack has secured a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply clean energy to India-based public hydroelectric power generation and transmission firm SJVNL.
In a statement, Solarpack said the power to be supplied to SJVNL will be generated from the Ganeko project which is a hybrid project composed of 383 megawatts (MW) of solar and 99 MW of wind.
The project, expected to generate electricity equivalent to the annual consumption of over 250,000 Indian households, is expected to start operations in 2026.
“By winning this wind and solar hybrid contract, Solarpack demonstrates its ability to compete in the evolving multi-technology renewable space in India,” Solarpack India CEO Sajay K.V. said.
“Through the Ganeko hybrid project, we reach a portfolio of 1 GW in India within the first half of 2024, which is in line with our strategic plan to develop 5 GW of multi-technology products in the country,” the CEO added.
