SoftBank to deploy “energy servers” in Japan
Allow users to generate electricity in their premises.
Japan’s Internet giant SoftBank Group has tied up with U.S.-based Bloom Energy Corporation to bring Bloom Energy's onsite energy servers to Japan.
The newly established joint venture, Bloom Energy Japan Ltd., will deploy the energy servers that allows customers to generate electricity onsite using solid oxide fuel cells to help companies lower their energy costs and avoid power outages.
With the joint venture, SoftBank will add distributed baseload power from Bloom Energy and further encourage the domestic use of clean energy, complementing its existing portfolio of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.
The Bloom Energy Server has the ability to run on natural gas and biogas to convert fuel into electricity, It is easily deployed and maintained.
