Siemens extends maintainance service for 740MW Vietnamese plant

Siemens will provide another 8 years of maintenance service for the 740MW Phu My 3 combined-cycle power plant.

Located in Ba Ria of Vung Tau Province, the build-operate-transfer facility started commercial operations in 2004 and supplies power to Vietnam.

Siemens will provide maintenance service for the plant's major equipment as soon as the gas turbines have reached 100,000 equivalent operating hours.

The company will also provide maintenance services for the power station's two SGT5-4000F turbines, one SST5-5000 steam turbine and three generators.

The service contract is expected to help ensure safe and reliable operations over the lifecycle of the gas-fired power plant that contributes in diversification of energy sources in Vietnam.

The power station is operated by Phu My 3 BOT Power, a company jointly held by UK-based BP, SembCorp Utilities, and the consortium of Kyuden International and Sojitz.
