The projects will cover four projects in Quezon Province.

The Department of Energy Awarded 500 megawatts of Wind Energy Service Contracts to Repower Energy Development Corporation (REDC) covering four onshore and offshore projects in the Quezon province.

In a disclosure, the REDC said the three projects, which will be built in Real and Mauban in Quezon, are all valid for 25 years and will be situated within the vicinity of the company’s three operating hydropower plants in the area.

The 100 MW SIlang Onshore Wind Farm will cover 2,592 hectares of land, the 100 MW Mauban Offshore Wind Farm will cover 3,888 hectares, and the 200 MW Real Offshore Wind Farm will span 2,025 hectares.

Meanwhile, REDC will also develop the 100 MW Labayat Onshore Wind Farm on 2,025 hectares of land.

“Developing our wind-energy capabilities will complement our core capabilities in operating run-of-the-river hydropower plants, enabling REDC to continue enjoying its ongoing multi-year growth in revenue and net income,” REDC President and CEO Eric Peter Roxas said.
