PT PLN plans to construct three gas-fired power plants with a total capacity of 4,500MW in Java, Indonesia.

Each plant is expected to  generate around 1,500MW of power and consume around 750 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, according to PLN planning and technology director Nasri Sebayang.

The plants will need an investment of about $2.3 billion with construction expected to begin in 2014 and commercial operations in 2017 or 2018.
