NTPC grants 300-MW ISTS-connected solar project to Apraava Energy

NTPC Limited has signed a power purchase agreement with Apraava Energy for a 300-megawatt (MW) interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected solar energy project in Rajasthan.

According to the company, the project, which will be completed in 24 months, is part of the tender issued by NTPC for setting up 1,500 MW of ISTS-connected solar power projects across India.

The PPA between NTPC and Apraava is a 25-year agreement starting when supply begins. Apraava will build, own, and operate the project.

This project expands Apraava's presence in Rajasthan, where it already has a 250 MW solar project and three wind projects totaling 253.6 MW.

Apraava has 1,420 MW of renewable energy projects (solar and wind) operating in seven Indian states, with another 900 MW under construction.
