NTPC to add 5 GW of capacity in FY 2025

It aims to raise the share of its renewable capacity to 60 GW by 2032.

NTPC aims to add five gigawatts (GW) of new capacity in the financial year (FY) 2025, which includes 3 GW of renewable energy and 2 GW of thermal power.

In FY 2024 the company installed 3,924 megawatts of new capacity bringing its total installed capacity to nearly 76 GW.

It currently has an operational capacity of 3.5 GW and a pipeline of over 20 GW.

NTPC, which contributes 25% of India’s power requirement, aims to raise its share of its non-fossil fuel-based capacity to 45% to 50% of its portfolio or around 60 GW of its 130 GW total portfolio by 2032.
