Nine offshore wind projects in Taiwan fail environmental review
Regulators demand further information on environmental impact.
Taiwanese regulators demanded that the developers of nine proposed offshore wind farms provide a more detailed information on the projects' environmental impact.
The projects, which are planned to be developed off the coast of Changhua, have failed the committee review by the government. The environmental impact assessments developers have submitted did not provide an "adequate analysis" of how the projects will affect migrating birds and other wildlife, nor did it provide apt response measures.
The developers behind the wind farms are Singapore's Yushan Energy, Canada's Northland Power, Hai Ding Offshore Wind Energy, and Greater Changhua Offshore Wind Power Corp.
