Kumamoto Forest Generation starts 75 MW Yatsushiro biomass plant

Kumamoto Forest Generation, LLC has begun operating the Yatsushiro Biomass Power Plant which could generate 75 megawatts of electricity.

The power plant uses mainly unused wood from Kumamoto Prefecture as fuel and could generate around 480 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.

by Toyota Tsusho Group company Ene-Vision Co., Ltd. (14%), Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (49%), and Toho Gas Co., Ltd. (37%).

“Through the operation of the power plant, Kumamoto Forest Generation will continue to promote initiatives toward carbon neutrality and contribute to the realization of a sustainable, recycling-based society,” Toyota Tsusho said in a statement.
