Six South Korean frims have expressed interest in joining PNOC-EC in building two coal mine-mouth power plants in Isabela and Zamboanga Sibugay worth $400 million.
Of the six, PNOC-EC (Philippine National Oil Company-Exploration Corp.) chief of staff Silvestre Punsalan III said that two are “highly interested” for the joint venture.
Kepco has been identified as one of the six firms.
PNOC-EC said that each power plant, with a capacity of 100 megawatt each, will require a joint venture partner.
