KEPCO unit signs joint deal to build hydropower plant
Korea Midland Power Co., a unit of KEPCO, will build and manage a hydroelectric power plant in northern Vietnam with htree other companies.
An agreement has been signed, which calls for Korea Midland Power and the three partners to jointly construct and operate a 40-megawatt hydroelectric power plant along the Nam Muc River in Dien Bien Province, some 300 kilometer west of Hanoi.
The three partner companies are Daewoo Engineering Company Co. of South Korea, Long Tao Energy Holdings Co. and Vietnam's Song Da Investment & Construction JSC.
The electricity generated from the power plant will supply Vietnam's state-run electricity corporation, EVN, according to Korea Midland Power.
