Kansai Electric, Mitsui to conduct CCS feasibility study
KEPCO will lead the CO2 capture study whilst Mitsui will focus on transport and storage.
Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. (KEPCO) and Mitsui & Co., Ltd., will collaborate to conduct a feasibility study to develop a carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and storage (CCS) value chain.
Under the memorandum of understanding, KEPCO will lead the study of CO2 capture from its thermal power plants, it said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Mitsui will be handling the study on CO2 transport and storage.
KEPCO aims to reach zero CO2 emissions from business activities by 2050.
