JERA and ReNew to collaborate on green ammonia production project
The green ammonia will be produced in India and supplied to Japan.The green ammonia will be producedin India and supplied to Japan.
Japan’sJERA and ReNew E-Fuels Private Limited, a subsidiary of ReNew EnergyGlobalentered into an agreement for the development of a green ammonia production project.
Under the agreement, the parties will develop ammonia production in Paradip in the Indian state of Odishawhichuses around 500 megawatts of renewable energy to produce green hydrogen as a raw material to generate around 100,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually.

The green ammonia produced of around 100,000 tonnes will be supplied to Japan annually.
Thisis in linewith the Indiangovernment’sschemes to support green hydrogen and ammonia under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.Thisis also in linewithJERA’sgoal to achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050.
