Jan De Nul Group announced that it will be installing about 90 kilometres (km) of subsea high-voltage export cables for the Fengmiao I wind farm in Taiwan.

In a statement, Jan De Nul said it will connect the offshore substation of Fengmiao I to the onshore grid of Taiwan via two AC high-voltage cables. ]

The company will deploy the cable-laying vessel Willem de Vlamingh. It will transport and install the cables, including the protection of crossings with other cables. The cables have a length of 45 km and 44 km, respectively, and weigh more than eight thousand tonnes altogether.

Fengmiao I provides power for about half a million households, and is part of the 1,800-megawatt Fengmiao wind project which is located 35 km off the coast of Taichung.
