Infinite Energy to halt sale of rooftop solar systems in Australia
The company cited the pandemic’s impact on its rooftop solar and battery systems business.
Australia’s Infinite Energy will be ceasing the sale of solar systems and battery systems for residential and commercial rooftops due to the impact of the pandemic.
“While the WA solar market continues to add rooftop solar capacity, establishing a sustainable business model that can support a quality product offering in a highly saturated, low margin and low barrier-to-entry solar market has proved a challenge,” Infinite Energy CEO Andrew Sutherland said.
Despite this, Infinite Energy noted its portfolio, consisting of electricity retail and solar Power Purchase Agreement services will continue to operate whilst other future plans for the business will be reviewed.
Infinite Energy assured the decision to stop its rooftop solar and battery systems business will not affect ongoing obligations of the company as the company will continue the completion of existing installation contracts.
“All current customers and those who have installation scheduled will be contacted in the coming days to discuss their options,” the company also said, adding that warranties amongst other customer support services will continue.
