Indonesia's Paiton coal-fired plant in full operation by year end
PLN announced that the by the completion of the Paiton coal-fired power plant in Pasuruan, East Java, by the end of this year.
The Java-Bali electricity grid will be strengthened by 660 megawatts from the said plant, according to Jakarta Post.
PLN primary energy director Nur Pamudji said that the electricity from the power plant had been synchronized and connected to the grid system and later this month the company planned to conduct tests to ensure that there would be no disturbance when the plant operated at full capacity,.
“We hope that the plant can start commercial operations by the end of this year but for now the plant is producing electricity at half of its capacity,” he said.
