The 2,000MW Batang power plant in Indonesia could start commercial operations in 2020, The Jakarta Post reports. The plant is expected to be the largest of its kind in Indonesia.
Construction on the Batang plant began in 2017. Bhimasena Power Indonesia, a joint venture of Japanese firms Itochu Corp. and Adaro Power is the developer of the project in Central Java.
The report adds that the plant has been 83% completed.
The Indonesian government is pushing for a larger plan to add 35,000 MW of power to the national grid.
