Indonesian firm PT PJB and Masdar ink deal for 200MW floating solar plant
It is slated to be the world's largest floating solar PV plant.
Indonesian power utility PLN's subsidiary, PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PT PJB), signed a project development agreement with Masdar to build the world's largest floating solar photovoltaic power plant.
The 200MW project will sprawl across a 225-hectare area on top of the Cirata Reservoir in West Java, Indonesia. The 6,000-hectare Cirata Reservoir is already the powerhouse of a 1GW hydro power station.
The floating project will be mounted on 700,000 floats anchored to the Cirata Reservoir bed.
