Indo Wind Power, Vestas ink deal for first wind farm in Indonesia
Construction is targeted to start in May 2016.
Indo Wind Power Holdings Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Asia Green Capital Partner, has signed an EPC agreement for its Jeneponto 1 - 62.5 MW Wind Power Project in Indonesia with Vestas Wind Systems.
According to the company release, the signing ceremony was witnessed by HM Queen of Denmark, who is visiting Indonesia for an official State Visit. Several other senior government representatives, including the Danish Minister for Energy, Utilities and Climate Lars Christian Lilleholt, Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs Kristian Jensen and the Danish Ambassador to Indonesia Casper Klynge. This is the first signature of its kind for a wind power project in Indonesia. The Jeneponto 1 wind power project will be the first large utility-scale wind farm in Indonesia and construction is expected to start in May 2016.
Indo Wind Power Holdings expects to sign the contract for its other two wind farms in Indonesia in the coming months. The current portfolio totals 182.5 MW in Indonesia which are located in South Sulawesi and West Timor.
