India green lights 50 MW renewable energy park in Rajasthan
This is in line with India’s goal of 450 GW of clean energy.
RMC Green Energy Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of RMC Switchgears Limited, is set to establish a 50-megawatt renewable energy park in Rajasthan after securing the approval of the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation.
In a statement, the company said the project, which is under the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Policy 2023, solidifies its parent company's position as a renewable energy independent power producer.
RMC Green said it continues to pursue additional tenders exceeding 600 megawatt peak and is engaging with both public and private entities to secure one gigawatt peak in engineering, procurement, and construction contracts over the next 18 months.
“RMC's efforts in the renewable sector are aligned with India's goal of achieving 450 GW [gigawatts] of renewable energy capacity by 2030,” the company said.
“The company's expansion into solar projects helps reduce carbon emissions, foster economic growth, and create green jobs, thereby positioning India as a global leader in renewable energy technologies,” it added.
