Gurin Energy greenlights 39 MW solar project in the Philippines

The project can meet the demand of 18,000 homes.

Singapore-based Gurin Energy has reached a final investment decision for a 39-megawatt (MW) solar project in the Philippines.

In a statement, Gurin Energy said the Capas Solar Power Project located in the province of Tarlac has secured a 40-hectare site through a 25-year lease agreement with the Philippines’ Bases Conversion and Development Authority.

The project could produce electricity that can power around 18,000 homes and cut over one million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions over its lifespan.

Gurin Energy has a project pipeline of over one gigawatt in the Philippines, including the 75 MW Palauig Solar Power Plant which is under construction.
