Global Business Power expanding in Iloilo, Cebu
Global Business Power Corp will increase power generation investments in the Visayas to meet its energy requirements.
“The need for power in the Visayas region will continue to grow, especially with the expected uptrend in the economy,” said Global Business Power vice-chairman Alfred V. Ty.
“Additional generating capacity must be made available to sustain this growth,” he added.
The company is was looking to add two 82-megawattplants in Toledo, Cebu and another 82-MW plant in La Paz, Iloilo City.
The projects, which would add 246 MW to the Cebu-Negros-Panay power transmission grid, are estimated to cost a total of $492 million and are expected to be completed by 2014, the firm said.
“We are now reviewing the various aspects of these investments, including market demand, timing, and project financing,” he said.
