Eurus Energy restarts operations of Hokkaido’s 3 wind farms

The plants with 8.34MW total capacity can power around 14,000 average households.

A total of three wind farms in Hokkaido with a capacity of 8.34 megawatts (MW) have resumed operations following the completion of their reconstruction.

In a statement, Eurus Energy said the wind farms were located in the towns of Embetsu, Hamatonbetsu, and Teshio with 2.97MW, 2.97MW, and 2.4MW capacities, respectively.

The plants in Embetsu and Hamatonbetsu started operations in February, whilst the Teshio plant came online in March.

The electricity generated from the plants is sold to the Hokkaido Electric Power Network Inc., which can supply electricity to around 14,000 average households, cutting carbon dioxide emissions by around 10,400 tonnes annually.
