Denmark's Ørsted A/S wins 920MW in Taiwan offshore wind auction

Danish firm Ørsted A/S won 920 MW of offshore wind capacity in Taiwan in the country’s first offshore wind auction.

The offshore wind developer's winning bid price clocked in at $83.69 (TWD 2,548) per MWh.
Ørsted said that it’s planning to work on obtaining the establishment permit and to secure the FiT by signing a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Taipower. Construction could start in 2023, with commissioning participated in 2025.
The move is in line Taiwan's plan to allocate a total of 5.5 GW of offshore wind for construction by 2025.
