Conergy takes 22 MW Philippine solar power contract
Solar farm will be located in Negros Occidental province. German solar firm Conergy AG has won a contract from San Carlos Solar Energy to build a 22 MW solar power plant in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental in the Visayas region south of Manila.
Under the contract, Conergy will plan, engineer, supply and construct two solar power plants with a capacity of 13MW and 9MW respectively with completion set for the first six months of 2014. San Carlos Solar is a joint venture between Bronzeoak Philippines and ThomasLloyd. The solar plant will have 88,300 Conergy P-Series modules and will generate some 35,000 MWh per year, enough to power 13,000 households. It will be the largest solar power plant in the Philippines.
Conergy said the contract, is the company's first order from the Philippines. It noted the contact opens up another attractive and emerging growth market in Asia.
