B.Grimm Power consortium to build hydro-floating solar project in Thailand
It will build a 45MW solar plant in a hydropower plant at Sirindhorn Dam.
A consortium between B.Grimm Power and China Energy Engineering Group Shanxi Electric Power Engineering (Energy China) will build a hydro-floating solar hybrid project in a deal worth over $27.71m (THB842m), according to the National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT).
Based on a signed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, the consortium will build and install a 45MW solar plant on water surface combined with an existing hydropower plant at Sirindhorn Dam constructed by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
The project will be installed over the surface area over 720,000sqm (450 rai), with reportedly low cost of investment by sharing facilities with the existing transmission system, transformers, and high voltage substations etc.
The project is expected to be completed in 12 months, with its commercial operation date (COD) set in December 2020.
