B. Grimm Power Public to build 420 MW solar power plant in Vietnam

It tied up with Xuan Cau to develop what is touted as Southeast Asia’s largest solar power plant.

The power generating unit of Thailand industrial conglomerate, B Grimm, is set to develop Southeast Asia’s largest solar power plant that can generate 420 MW, reports Nikkei Asian Review.

B. Grimm Power Public has tied up with Vietnamese construction firm Xuan Cao to develop the plant at a cost of $420m. It will be located in Tay Ninh, southwestern Vietnam.

"The project got off to a good start and we are on track to meet the COD (commercial operation date) in June 2019," B.Grimm Power Public Company CEO Preeyanart Soontornwata told Nikkei Asian Review.

B.Grimm Power also eyes the development of a 100MW offshore wind power project with state-run Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) as it guns to have a total of 53 power projects with total power generating capacity of nearly 3,000 MW by 2022.
