Alstom closes $24M deal for Vietnam hydro project
Alstom and Hydrochina Huadong Engineering Corp will provide electro-mechanical equipment and technical services for the Song Bung 4 hydropower project in Vietnam.
A $24 million contract has been signed with Vietnam Electricity by Alstom and Hydrochina, who are consortium partners.
The project located 43km from Danang city, is one of the main hydropower projects on Vietnam’s Bung River.
Under the terms of the contract, Alstom will also provide two 78MW Francis turbine-generator sets and related equipment for this project.
The scope of the work includes the equipment’s design, engineering, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and testing.
Upon completion, the Song Bung 4 project will supply power to the central area of Vietnamese grid.
The first turbine unit will be put in operation by 2014.
