ADB, BoC to cooperate on energy
Clean energy is one of the broad range of fresh opportunities for collaboration between ADB and BoC.
The areas of collaboration would also touch on infrastructure development, regional trade finance, microfinance and institutional capacity building.
Bank of China officials, led by Executive Vice President Zaiqun Zhou, met ADB management and senior staff, including Vice-Presidents Lawrence Greenwood, Xiaoyu Zhao and Lakshmi Ventakachalam, for a series of discussions at ADB headquarters last Friday.
“ADB and BoC foresee several opportunities for enhanced collaboration in important areas over coming years with priorities including climate change and low-carbon development, infrastructure investment, regional trade finance, small- and medium-enterprise financing, microfinance, joint research and knowledge sharing, and corporate governance and risk management improvement,” said Philip Erquiaga, Director General of ADB’s Private Sector Operations Department.
