Adani Green Energy Limited started the operations of a 180-megawatt solar power plant in Rajasthan which could meet the demands of over 110,000 homes.

In a statement, the company said the project at Devikot in Jaisalmer can produce 540 million electricity units annually and reduce around 0.39 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

AGEL said the power plant deployed next-generation bifacial solar PV modules and horizontal single-axis solar transmission to maximise power generation.

The plant taps the Energy Network Operation Centre which relies on a secured digital cloud platform, that will allow real-time monitoring of AGEL’s renewable energy assets.

AGEL’s power plant also has a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India.
