Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands boost cooperation in clean hydrogen.

Saudi Arabia-based ACWA Power and Dutch entities teamed up to explore the feasibility of the green hydrogen export corridor between ACWA Power’s global hydrogen production sites and the port of Amsterdam.

Recently, ACWA Power signed a memorandum of understanding with Zenith Energy Terminals, GasLog, and the Port of Amsterdam to also strengthen cooperation in clean hydrogen and marine transport and efficient supply chains.

“Together, we're not just shaping the commercial viability of emerging clean energy sectors like green hydrogen; we're also showcasing Saudi Arabia's role in driving the global energy transition in a collaborative and innovative manner,” Marco Arcelli, Chief Executive Officer of ACWA Power, stated.

Currently, ACWA Power is developing an $8.5b green hydrogen project in the future city of NEOM, Saudi Arabia – the largest utility-scale commercial facility in the world. It has conducted feasibility studies and project developments in the Middle East, Africa, and other locations.

The Netherlands is one of the European markets that ACWA Power focused on to export green hydrogen.
