800MW wind farm planned in Australia's New South Wales
The farm will be built by UPC Renewables and AC Energy.
UPC Renewables Australia and Ayala Corporation’s AC Energy are planning to build an 800MW Valley of the Winds onshore wind farm in New South Wales with a capital investment of $671.5m.
According to IPP Journal, the project will have 175 wind turbines that will generate 2,500,000MWh of renewable energy for 590,000 homes. It is still in the early planning stages and is expected to create up to 400 jobs during construction and up to 50 jobs during its operational life.
The Valley of the Winds project will be connected to the National Electricity Market (NEM) with a transmission line that will run from a new substation.
The developers are also mulling a battery storage system to be added to the project.
