What you need to know about Perkins' Aurangabad facility in India

In early 2015 the new Perkins® 4000 Series engine manufacturing facility will be completed, enabling them to serve  customers in Asia with a range of quality power solutions.

Located in the Shendra Industrial Area in Aurangabad, India, the $150m facility will have the capacity to produce around 3,000 engines per year with the capability to increase to 5,000 units.

In line with Perkins’ strategy of manufacturing closer to its customers, the new facility will serve the growing demand for  4000 Series engines from the China, India and wider Asian markets.

“When it opens, our new 4000 Series facility will deliver many benefits to our Asian customers, providing them with access to quality, dependable engines, with reduced lead times, backed by our global product support offering,” said Richard Cotterell, managing director Perkins India Private Limited.

Our 4000 Series engines
The 4000 Series is a range of 6-, 8-, 12- and 16-cylinder diesel and spark ignited gas engines that range from 695 kWm up to 2083 kWm. The most recent introduction, the 4016-61TRG model, is the most powerful unit ever produced by Perkins.

Today throughout Asia, Perkins 4000 Series engines have been selected as reliable back-up power solutions for a wide range of uses, from data centres to real estate, and large manufacturing industries to hospitals, while our prime offering is enabling our Asian customers to increase their export business.
