Vietnam Ministry reveals solar rooftop to symbolize green energy
The roof of the Trade Ministry headquartershas a "solar power station" that generates nearly 16,000 kWh of electricity a year.

Pointing at the solar panels, Mr. Thai said: "This project has a capacity of 12 Kwp, producing about 16,000 kWh/year. The total area of the solar panels installed is 100 m2 including 52 modules branded Solarworld SW 230. Angle of the panels was calculated by the simulation computer software to achieve optimal value for the panels to help generate the most electricity. The German experts have been here for months to design and direct the installation of equipment. "
German firms brought experts to the building for the installation, and the whole system inaugurated on November 19, 2010. Until now, the system is still functioning well.
"According to records, these panels are durable for over 20 years, and the inverter system can operate for 10 years, "explained Mr. Thai.
Even though the solar power station on the roof of MOIT does not supply sufficient power for the whole building but it is highly significant in symbolic terms.
