Uttarakhand 450MW plant ready to fire, but no gas in sight
The first phase of the Sravanthi Energy`s 450 MW gas based power plant in Uttarakhand is ready for commissioning.
However, there is no gas supply for it.
The project is being built in two phases of 225 MW each.
Sravanthi Energy has already expressed their desire to the state government to supply as much power as required by the state at the most competitive tariffs in order to meet the state's peak and base load demand along with the demand of other DISCOMs connected to the grid at regulated tariffs.
The company notes that CEA has also recommended the project for commissioning in the combined cycle mode by the end of the 11th plan.
However, gas supplies are still awaited and SEPL has made it clear that it is stranded without adequate allocation of gas for its project.
