US firms hunting for Philippine partners in energy business
Trade mission to visit the Philippines.
A US trade mission consisting of 14 US business firms will hold meetings with potential Philippine distributors and customers and discuss investment prospects with government officials.
The American business mission will explore partnerships in the energy and environment sectors. Opportunities for the US firms arise from the Philippines’ dependence on gas imports and its need to develop natural gas infrastructure.
Opportunities for US firms also lie in water-related businesses since some 20% to 50% of the population does not have access to safe drinking water.
The US companies include Auxin Solar (solar modules); DSC Dredge (portable dredges); First Carbon Solutions (environmental consulting and software); Lumi-Solair (grid-free renewable-energy solutions, including solar, wind and hybrid); NTFB Combustion (industrial combustion burners); Opower (energy efficiency); OSISoft (software for real-time infrastructure solutions); Photonworks Engineering (renewable-energy systems, energy services, and sustainable building design and development); SAIC (advisor for energy-project financing); Severn Trent DeNora (water-disinfection systems); Silver Spring Networks (networking platform and solutions provider for smart energy networks); SoEnergy International (energy solutions via various energy sources); and SunEdison (solar technology).
