Thailand's Banpu Power invests in 80MW wind project in Vietnam
It is seeking investments to meets its 4.3GW growth target.
Banpu Power Public Company Limited (BPP) has invested in its first wind project in Vietnam with a capacity of 80MW, an announcement in the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) revealed.
The project is located in Soc Trang province and consists of three phases, phase 1 with 30 MW, phase 2 with 30 MW, and phase 3 with 20 MW.
Phase 1 has received an Investment Registration Certificate (IRC) from the Department of Planning and Investment (DPI). It is currently undergoing a feasibility study and expects to achieve Commercial Operation Date (COD) within 2020, whilst the remaining 2 phases expect to achieve COD within 2021.
BPP is currently seeking investments in conventional and renewable power projects in its target of 4.3GW in 2025.
