Thailand raises biodiesel prices
On account of higher dollar and methanol prices.
Thailand increased the reference price of biodiesel by US$0.03786 per liter from Friday to US$0.90153 per liter yesterday, the fifth price change in a month.
The Energy Planning and Policy Office said biodiesel prices, which are set on a weekly basis, depends on the cost of raw material. This week's price has gone up because methanol has become more expensive and the exchange rate between the baht and dollar has increased.
The government said the price is appropriate for Thailand right now. The price of ethanol price was higher last month because the production of ethanol from cassava was less.
The ethanol reference price for September was calculated from July 15 to August 15.
