SW Energy picks up pace with 1,320 MW thermal plant project
JSW Energy has commenced with the design and engineering of its upcoming 1,320 MW super-critical coal based thermal power plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
It is currently evaluating bids for the BTG equipment package.
Its acquisition of 300 acres of land for the project is progressing at a satisfactory pace. The project has been granted environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment and Forests. Moreover, 35 million cmpa of water has been allocated from the river Mahanadi for the project and JSW energy has started the construction of the water barrage.
The power utility has already entered into a power purchase agreement with the Government of Chhattisgarh for off-take of power from the proposed project.
